When you live in a city where tropical weather is all year-round, getting into the Christmas spirit is not what you typically see in the movies or what our northern friends are used to. Winter time to many includes cold weather, snowflakes, and building snow-angels and snowmen. Here in South Florida? Well, we’ll be lucky if the cool weather we do get lasts more than a weekend. We don’t get snowflakes but we do get “snow’ from ice machines that melts after an hour or two. And let’s not forget Frosty the Snowman. Except, ours is called Olas the Sandman.
Olas the Sandman stands proudly where Las Olas Blvd meets A1A. Every year, the City of Fort Lauderdale celebrates with music performances and fireworks as Olas illuminates our beautiful beachfront. Check out the pics and video below and hope you all have a wonderful holiday season this year and ever year!
